New Probiotics supplements production for poultry ,livestock, aquaculture and industrial insects (honey bees)
Probiotic or DFM are feed additives which has proven to be effective on animal performance and health because of their positive impacts on animal intestinal flora. Probiotics as the best antibiotics alterantive candidate become popular following the Ban of the usage antibiotics as growth promoters in poultry farms in many countries, as well as reducing its consumption in other animal husbandry , aquaculture and honeybee industry. Due to the strain specific characteristics of probiotic bacterial strain, It is believed that domestic isolated strains are more suitable and reliable for the production of probiotic supplement. Based on the new international law and pressure from animal products consumers regarding the removal of antibiotic as growth promoters and reduce the consumption of antibiotics for the treatment of infections, probiotics are considered as a suitable antibiotics substitute. Probiotics are defined as “live microorganisms which when administered in adequate amounts confer a health benefit on the host”. During the last decade, the use of probiotics has received increasing attention as scientific evidence continues to accumulate on the properties ,functionality, and beneficial effects of probiotic bacteria on honey bees and other Farm animals. The search for new probiotics supplements is driven by the growing demand of feed additive market aware of problems related to the antibiotics misusage , producer awareness regarding the farm animal gastrointestinal health and its economic impacts. On the other hand domestic probiotic supplements always are more reliable and accessible source for Domestic producers. Economical impacts: Imporvment Chicken performance Reduction foodborn disease such as Salmonellosis and Campylobacteriosis in consumer Improvement rainbow trout performance Improvement beef cow performance and reduce diarrhea in calves Stimulation honey bees immune system and increase resistance to honey bees disease Improve consumer safety by reducing the use of antibiotics in food animals
Current project: - screening and isolation of probiotics strains from different sources of livestock, poultry, fish and industrial insects(honey bees) |
