   My current focus in agricultural biotechnological research institute of iran ( abrii) is on the New Probiotics supplements production  for poultry ,livestock, aquaculture and industrial insects ( honey bees).

I'm running this project from  2016. Based on the new international law and pressure from animal product  consumers regarding the removal of antibiotic as growth promoters and reduce the consumption of antibiotics for the treatment of infections, probiotics are considered as a  suitable  antibiotids substitute. Probiotics are defined as “live microorganisms which when administered in adequate amounts confer a health benefit on the host”. During the last decade, the use of probiotics has received increasing attention as scientific evidence continues to accumulate on the properties ,functionality, and beneficial effects of probiotic bacteria on Farm animals and honey bees .The search for new  probiotics supplements is driven by the growing demand  of  feed additive market aware of  problems related to the antibiotics misusage , producer awareness regarding  the farm animal gastrointestinal  health  and  its economical impacts. On the other hand domestic probiotic always  are more reliable and accessible source for  Domestic producers.

Summary.

Probiotic supplements are biological feed additives, environmentally friendly, which has proven to be effective on animal performance and health because of their effects on animal gastrointestinal tract health and are the best antibiotic alternative candidate.  As mentioned earlier,  Ban  of  the  antibiotics usage  as growth promoters in poultry  farms in many countries, as well as reducing its consumption in other animal husbandry , aquaculture and honeybee industry  has been led to increasing use of probiotics. This plan will be done by 5 different  projects :

  1. screening and isolation of probiotics strains from different sources of livestock, poultry,  fish and industrial insects(honey bees).
  2. Assessment efficacy of the isolated probiotics from gastrointestinal  tract
  3. of iran native poultry on performance and meat quality  of broiler chickens.
  4. Evaluation efficacy of the isolated probiotic bacteria  from gastrointestinal  tract of Iranian  native poultry on the health and reduction the incidence of intestinal pathogens such as coccidiosis, Campylobacter jejuni and Salmonella in broiler chickens.
  5. Evaluation efficacy of the selected probiotic bacteria  from gastrointestinal  tract of Iranian  native poultry  after  formulation on performance and meat quality  of  broiler chickens in  farm.

 

Assessment Biosafety selected strains .

 And  now we are running  project entitled:  screening and isolation of probiotics strains from different sources of livestock, poultry, fish and industrial insects(honey bees) . in this project we are working on the isolation and identification of the effective probiotic bacterial strains to develop efficient feed supplements for  broiler chicken, livestock, aquaculture and honey bee nutrition.

 Isolated Potential probiotic bacterial strain from gastrointestinal tracts of Iranian native chicken, livestock, fish and honey bees after their in vitro assessment for survival in gastrointestinal tract ( PH and bile tolerance),antimicrobial activity and antibiotic susceptibility test will be introduced for farm trials )  project number 2 to 5).   Subsequently Developing suitable probiotics supplements is according to the farm trial results
